The text of this piece is by Italian dialect poet Guilio Grimadli (1873-1910), whose poems are written in the Marchigiano dialect native to the region of Marche in Italy. The text repeats in this piece, becoming increasingly fragmented as the work progresses. This represents a loss of language, the mother tongue becoming more and more distant, first to the speaker, then to the next generation.
